It’s getting near the mid season point of boys and girls basketball and hockey and the guys review the seacoast teams and some of their standout players.

 

Sherm and Jay recap the national championship for Manchester N.H.’s Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The talk shifts to the NFL playoffs and the road to the Super Bowl.  

 

They wrap up with hot stove conversation about the upcoming baseball spring training and Sherm’s tribute to HOF broadcaster Bob Uecker.

SSF A New Sheriff at Patriot Place

Sherm Chester rides solo in this edition of the SSF.

It’s official that the New England Patriots hired Mike Vrabel to be their new head coach.  Sherm gives his thoughts on the hire and also on the way  Jerod Mayo was fired.

On the schoolboy/school girl sports scene discussion turns to the upcoming schedules and current NHIAA standings.

During the “Two Minute Drill” Sherm congratulates the winner of the SSF Fantasy football league and gives his take on the upcoming National College Football Championship.

SSF- Happy New Year

Roger Brown is Sherm’s guest host on this first 2025 edition of the SSF.

The guys discuss the New Years college bowl games and the road to the NCAA football championship.  The effects of the Transfer Portal  on the game is also on the table.

 

The talk shifted to the Patriots and the future of Gerod Mayo and their potential NFL Draft pick but was edited out after the new of Mayos firing by Robert Kraft. (We will pick up that topic in the next edition)

 

During the “Two Minute Drill” Roger discusses an upcoming football camp and Sherm pays tribute to a member of the Bluehawk family.

The fall sports season is officially over in the Granite State with the crowning of the NH Division One football champion.

Sherm Chester and Roger Brown recap that game and the season. They also  congratulate the winningest coach in New Hampshire schoolboy football.  

Roger gives his football projections for next year for both the NHIAA teams and the UNH Wildcats.

Now it’s onto the winter sports.

SSF- UNH Wildcats FCS Tournament Action

Sherm is joined by Mike Murphy and the focus is on the UNH Wildcats entering the FCS post season football tournament action starting this week against the UT at Martin Skyhawks.

Mike also reviews the other Wildcat teams upcoming action.

Coach Tufts shares his expertise on the secrets to a successful season.
