SSF-Jon Rineman "The Gardens Always Greener"

On this edition of the SSF our guest is Jon Rineman author of "The Garden is Always Greener" (an alternate NBA timeline) of the Boston Celtics.

Jon is a North Hampton native who has been a comedy writer with Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno among his resume and a lifelong Celtics fan using his talents to write this humorous account  of “what might have been” during the Larry Bird/Michael Jordan era of the NBA.

Jon explains how he put it all together and the inspiration of his enjoying the Celts with his father and seeing Alzheimer’s robbing them of that mutual affection.

The proceeds of the book going to the Alzheimer’s Association now through September.

SSF-Special Summertime Edition

Summer is here and we kick it off with a SSF special edition starting off with Sherm’s New England sports notebook.

We also feature a segment of an interview with Exeter High School’s retiring Athletic Director Bill Ball.

SSF- Granite State Sports Champions

Jeff Collins, Executive Director of the NHIAA is special guest on this edition of the Seacoast Sports Forum.

Discussion is about the successful completion of the 2023-2024 Granite State sports seasons.

How divisions are structured and scheduling in the various sports are also topics on the table.

The program concludes with Jeff Collins giving his take on Bill Balls effect on the New Hampshire sports during his tenure as Exeter High School Athletic Director and Sherm lists the Spring sports champions in the Granite State.

The Spring sports tournaments are underway.

On this edition of the SSF Sherm is joined by Roger Howe from the FNLNH network and the conversation is the boys lacrosse D1-2-3 brackets.

Roger breakdown the upcoming action and makes his predictions on the road to the NHIAA championships.

The guys also discuss the success of The Bishop Guertin Cardinals since the turn of the new century and keys to Exeters game against them.

Roger expresses his feelings toward Exeter Athletic Director Bill Ball.

Sherm wraps up by breaking down the Girls Division 1 & 2 lacrosse tourney brackets.

SSF-Spring Sports Have Sprung

Roger Brown joins Sherm in this edition of the SSF with spring sports finally underway.

The guys talk Granite State baseball with Roger giving early season observations on teams and players.

SSF-Talking March Madness Hoops

Josh Morissette,  a standout college athlete from Exeter is the special guest on this edition of the SSF with the emphasis on basketball and in particular his development as a successful college player.

Sherm talks with Josh about his transition from high school to prep school to college player and the differences in coaching techniques he’s received and his advice to young players.

Josh also gives his feelings about the upcoming retirement of Exeter High Athletic Director Bill Ball and wraps up with his March Madness predictions.

SSF-New Hampshire March Madness

Sherm Chester is joined by Roger Brown of the Union-Leader and they handicap the upcoming Granite State basketball championships and discuss one of the most dominating players in the tourney, Pinkerton Academy’s..Jackson Marshall.

Roger gives his take on the upcoming high school baseball schedule….proposed legislation to protect high school sports officials and the guys discuss the announced retirement of Exeter High School Athletic Director…Bill Ball.

The Division 1 & 2 boys and girls championship games are scheduled for Sunday 3/10 at UNH ‘s Lundholm Gym in Durham.
